Bernard Prince passed peacefully in the Madawaska Valley Hospice at St. Francis Memorial Hospital Hospice in the company of family and friends. Bernard was a member of St Hedwig’s Parish and a loving father and grandfather and loyal friend to his family, friends and neighbours. Visitors were always welcome especially on the glider swing on his deck on warm sunny summer days.
Over his 94 years Bernard worked in many of the local saw mill and logging operations, at Marathon Pulp and Paper, local construction contractors, construction of the St Lawrence Seaway, Faraday Mine, Canada Barrel, and finally over 23 years at JM Schneiders in Kitchener. He never lost his love for Barry’s Bay and the Madawaska Valley and retired here in 1990.

Ray retired from J.M. Schneider after 38 years of service and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener who loved the outdoors and spending time with his family.
Ray leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years Judy, his son Duane (Teena) and his daughter Darlene. Loved grandfather of Crystal, Krysten, and Spencer. Dear brother of Marlene Mage (Wally), and brother-in-law of Yvonne Russell (late Art), Diane Finnegan (late Norm), Ronny Scharlach (Pat), and Shirley Hagedorn. Predeceased by his brothers Bert (Mary), Junior (Winnie), sisters Dorothy VanOordt (Bill) and Violet Thibideau (Ross), brothers-in-law Buddy Scharlach (Iona), Reggie Scharlach (Jeannie), and Jimmy Scharlach (Nancy), and sisters-in-law Dolly Huehn (Doug), Jeanette Kopf (Ken), Doreen McDonnell (Pat), and Catherine Kaminska (Jim) (Gerry McConnell). Just shy of his 79th birthday, Ed passed away unexpectedly on Halloween night.
Predeceased by Dianne, his beautiful wife of 53 years, he will be lovingly remembered by his children Mark (Margaret), and Stacey (Shawn), his amazing grandchildren Kathryn, Bryden, William and Wyatt, and by his great granddaughter Alice. He will live on forever in the hearts and memories of his many nephews, nieces, and friends and will always be remembered as the world’s smartest man.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ed’s life will take place on Sunday November 12, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Ed’s place.

Passed away October 16, 2023 at the age of 96 after a brief illness with pancreatic cancer.
Saverio will be forever in the hearts of his loving wife of 66 years Maria (Renon), son Fabio and daughters Daniela, Sandra (Rick) and Gina (Rob). Loving Nonno to Brett. Predeceased by his parents, Nick and Madeline, and his brother Raymondo.
As a young man, Saverio moved to Canada in 1958, first working in British Columbia before settling in Kitchener, Ontario where he worked at Schneiders Meats. Saverio enjoyed hunting, bocce, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Alpini club and spending time with family and friends.
Saverio's family would like to extend their gratitude to the many people who helped him through his health journey. Special thanks to Dr. Chettimati, his home care PSW's especially Rhea, Dr Trussler's team at Grand River hospital and the dedicated nurses and staff at Freeport Hospital.

John's love and passion of baseball was lifelong, playing for the Kitchener Panthers in his youth and teaching his daughters the game. He continued to play into his senior years and enjoyed hosting countless Slo-Pitch tournaments as a Molson Slo-Pitch Convenor. John was equally passionate about his cars and snowmobiles; racing, restoring and spending time at the car club. John and Trish cherished spending their time with their family and friends at their trailer and from the "White Barn".

Ken was a loyal loving husband, and an exceptional father who was always there to listen and support his family and friends. Ken was a dedicated and hardworking employee of JM Schneiders for 37 years and Corestar Mechanical for 15 years. He was a great handyman, gardener and woodworker and enjoyed passing down these life skills to his family and friends. Ken was a dog lover and whisperer, always enjoying visits from his four-legged friends.

Passed away peacefully after a short illness. She will be greatly missed.
Cathrine was a supply chain architect whose computer savvy and problem-solving abilities made her a valued team member. She was a quick learner who took challenges and technological changes in her stride.
Cathrine always undertook new endeavours with great gusto. Scuba diving became a great passion in her 30's and she quickly progressed to Dive Master, guiding new and experienced divers to thrilling scuba adventures in the Caribbean and Ontario. She also took up hockey as an adult: she was small and mighty on the ice and held her own against more experienced players. She was also a wonderful cook and baker who often shared her delicious creations with others. As a volunteer, she helped build community for organizations like FreeCycle, an environmental collective dedicated to re-use of household goods.

Proud and devoted father of Monica (Dan) and Edith (Joe). Cherished 'Grandpa' of Lukas, Alexa, Markus, Jacob and Marco. Lovingly remembered by his many relatives in Canada and Slovenia. He also leaves behind several close friends. Predeceased by his parents Stefan and Rozalija, and his siblings Feri, Ana, Teri and Laci. Joe was the youngest and last surviving member of his family.
As a young man, Joe had big aspirations and left Slovenia for Germany for work. He then came to Canada in 1969 with a dream of giving his future family a better life. Once he was settled, Maria followed him in 1970. Joe loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. By trade, Joe was a butcher who retired from JM Schneiders. Joe's most precious moments were spending time with his family. He also loved cooking and barbecuing for his family. Joe's pride and joy were his grandchildren who he loved beyond words and who loved him back endearingly. He would drop everything immediately to drive them where they needed to be and adored spending time with them. Not a day went by that Joe was not at a sports field watching his grandchildren play and was always their biggest fan. He truly had a heart of gold. All who knew Joe will remember him for his love for story telling and great sense of humour.

Neil is survived by his beloved wife, Dee, with whom he shared a remarkable love story that began at the age of 17 at Camp Tawingo. Their bond was unbreakable. He was not just her husband but also her protector, best friend, and soulmate. Together, they navigated life's challenges and celebrated its victories, serving as a shining example of love and commitment that inspired all who were fortunate enough to witness their devotion.

Larry was the founder of the Larry Kelly Toy Drive. He was associated with numerous sports teams and was a member of the Twin City Masonic Lodge for more than 45 years.
"Kelly" will be forever remembered as a larger than life figure who touched the hearts of so many. Once you had met him, you would never forget him. There are not enough words to describe the impact this man had on people's lives.

John passed away peacefully at St. Catherines General Hospital on Sunday August 27, 2023, after a long and difficult illness.
John will be dearly missed by his siblings Frank (Rita) Schomogyi and Trudy (Darryl) Boltz, his many nieces and nephews, their children his great nieces and nephews, as well as his dear friends.
John has gone to join his loving family in heaven, his wife Bernice (nee Kienapple) of 45 years, his parents Frank and Katie Schomogyi.
John worked for over 40 years at JM Schneiders until he retired. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman; he bred pigeons for several years. For as long as anyone can remember John always had a Harley Motorcycle, often being seen riding around.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Bryan passed peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the age of 39.
He was a loving and devoted husband and best friend to Virtine, and a patient, loving daddy to Dominic and Curtis. Beloved son of Garry and Jean and brother to Matthew and his fiance Ashlie George.
Predeceased by infant brother Michael (1982).
Survived by his in-laws Gary and Janice Stewart and brother-in-law Nick, sister-in-law Jessica and uncle to their 3 sons, all of Prince Edward Island.
Bryan attended St. Mary's High School and Conestoga College. He worked at J.M. Schneider for 7 years and then joined his co-worker Rob at Safe Living Technologies.
Bryan's passion from the age of 5 was sports, mainly fastball. He made many enduring friendships over the last 30 years with his various teammates. His focus was pitching and he constantly worked to hone his skills, whether it was attending pitching workshops or countless hours pitching to Dad in the yard. Growing up, he traveled with his family in Canada and the USA for endless tournaments, but one of his happiest achievements was joining a St. Catharine's team in New Brunswick for the Eastern Canadian Championship, where they won the tournament and he was named Top Pitcher. When he began his own family, he was happy to play in less competitive leagues that were closer to home.
Bryan was a very loving, compassionate and respectful man with a strong work ethic and we are all so very lucky to have known him.

It is with great sadness that we had to say goodbye to our dear son and loving brother, Darren Christie. He passed away peacefully in his sleep May 9, 2023.
Darren was born in Kitchener on June 30, 1971, he is survived by his parents, Jack and Jean Christie and his sister, Colleen Christie.
Darren was a wonderful person who loved anything to do with nature. He always said, "find me a cabin in the middle of the woods with a dog of course" and he would be completely happy. He love animals and was a wonderful uncle to Nelly, Colleen's dog who loved her uncle Darren dearly. Anyone who met Darren instantly knew what a great guy he was. He was so personable, and could carry on a conversation with anyone. He knew what he wanted and went for it, very good at making decisions and just living life the way he wanted and on his own terms.

It is with heavy hearts, deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Robert (Bob) Miller on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario. Bob fought a courageous and brief battle with anaplastic thyroid cancer, a rare and aggressive disease, which he was diagnosed with on January 30, 2023.
Bob will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife and soulmate of 47 years, Diane (Beaudry) Miller. Dad to Ashley and Marty Stuehler, Dustin Miller and Robyn Warsylewicz, and Zachary and Caitlin Miller. He was affectionately known as GP (Grand-Pere) to eight year-old Emma, seven year-old Jackson and three year-old Holden.

Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Friday April 28, 2023 at the age of 72. Thank you to the compassionate staff at the hospital for taking good care of him in his final days.
Dave loved his coffee, gardens, watching football and the news but he was also an accomplished artist. He held painting sessions at his home and created numerous oil paintings of landscapes and buildings that grace our homes and offices to date. Dave was also a talented musician playing the bagpipes in a local pipe band in his younger years. He loved his kids and grandkids unconditionally and made the best homemade turkey noodle soup that filled their bellies and hearts. Dave was a kind and practical man who wanted for nothing. His selfless nature and willingness to put others first is something we can all learn from.

Douglas Jerome Bergman passed away suddenly at his home on April 4, 2023, at the age of 77. He will be forever missed by his devoted wife of 56 years, Sandy (nee Steffler). Loving father of Christine (Mark) Rose and Michael (Jacqueline) Bergman. He was a cherished Grandpa to Nick Rose, and Lilah, Evan, and Gracie Bergman. He was predeceased by his parents, Jerome Bergman and Mary Bergman (nee Sittler), his sister Marylou and his brother Bob. His siblings Barb, Joy, Joe, and Jennifer will also miss him.
Born in Heidelberg, Ontario and raised in Waterloo Region, Doug was an active member of his community, an avid golfer and a devoted Kitchener Rangers fan. Doug will always be remembered for his vibrant smile and welcoming personality. Doug's energy was contagious, and you immediately felt his warmth and sincerity in his presence. Doug was a friend to many and a family man through and through. His most cherished roles were husband, father, and grandfather.

Beloved husband of Mary (nee Jurcin) for over 54 years. Loving father of Carol Bravo. Proud "Deda" of Santino and Serena. Predeceased by his parents Josip and Roza and by his brother Josip. Dear brother of Nick Miladin (Mary). Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and extended family and friends in Canada and Croatia.
Zvonko loved his card nights with friends and entertaining. He took great pride in the Duplex he and Mary owned on Shaftsbury Drive. Zvonko was always willing to lend a helping hand, often snow-blowing his neighbour's driveways. He loved to travel, spend time at the cottage on Lake Simcoe, walk his daughter's fur-babies and was often found listening to Croatian music. He was a wonderful grandfather to his two precious grandchildren, he loved them dearly.
Zvonko was proud to work for J.M. Schneiders for about 28 years.

John was an avid fan of the Chicago Blackhawks. He spent his free time traveling at great length with his loving wife Clara. John loved spending time with family, playing cards with friends and checkers with his grandson. He spent 19 years working in the office at Uniroyal and then went on to work at J.M. Schneider's for 25 years. John was known for his precise routines and meticulous organization...everything was always well planned out. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.

David Alan Lippert passed away too soon on March 14, in his 68th year, surrounded by his family.
Beloved and devoted husband of Lisbeth. Proud father to Carolyn (& Ian), Tristen, Jackson, Victoria (& Alex), Zephy (& Robin) and Dawson. His life was further enriched as a loving Papa to Adalyn, Lauren, Silas and Jonathan.
David was close with his siblings, Linda (& Terry), Bruce (& Bill), Laurie (& Doug). Sharing their cherished family cottage in Inverhuron.
David enjoyed spending time at the cottage with his family and close friends. Enjoying long sunny days chatting in the beach circle and watching for the elusive green flash at sunset, always with a book in hand.
David started his career at Schneiders, later moving to Dare Foods, most recently as Vice President of Human Resources. Over his 30+ year tenure at Dare Foods, David worked tirelessly, and with enthusiasm, for the company and its many employees across North America. David was also an active member of the Food Processing Skills Canada, serving as a member of its board of directors.

Donald (Don) Edgar Fancourt, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 1st, 2023 at St. Mary's General Hospital after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Loving husband of Carol Fancourt for 55 years and 11 months. Proud father of Nicole VandenBerg (David) and Michelle Innocente (David) and beloved grandfather of Meghan, Jadon and Jared VandenBerg and Lauren and Maggie Innocente. Predeceased by father Albert "Bob" Fancourt in 1987, sister Donna Main (John) in 2019, mother-in-law Dorothy Baxter in 1977, father-in-law Gordon Baxter in 1996, and brother-in-law Rob Jollimore (Dawn) in 1995. Survived by mother Kathleen Delorme, brothers Dale Fancourt (Sylvia) and David Fancourt (Darlene), brothers-in-law Gordon Baxter, Dennis Baxter (Jean), Jamie Baxter (Patricia) and sisters-in-law Dawn Jollimore (Gail) and Sandra Boonstra (Fred). Also a cherished uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Born in Lafleche, Saskatchewan, Don grew up in Bowness, Calgary, Alberta. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in Esquimalt, British Columbia in 1963. He did his basic training at Cornwallis in Nova Scotia and transferred to Stadacona in Halifax after meeting Carol. Don was honourably released as an Able Seaman Radar Plotter in 1966. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Brechin Branch 488 for decades.

As the morning sun rose on the new year, we said our final goodbyes to John. He was surrounded by our love and was no longer in discomfort. He leaves his wife Maria and his children Mike, Chris and Angie to rejoin his parents Jose and Virginia and his in-laws Adelaide and Manuel Dias whom he has dearly missed.
João was born on March 23, 1955 in Cisao Vila Verde Portugal and came to Canada on June 13, 1976, and lived with his Tio João and Tia Florinda Fernandes in Kitchener. He worked in the blending department with J.M. Schneiders for 33 years, eventually retiring in 2010.

Beloved Husband of Rhoda (Née Winn) for over 62 years, loving father of five Ken (Joyce), Peter, Steven, Laurie (Ed) Hunter, Robin (Stephen) Legge. Grandfather of nine and great grandfather to four. He will be dearly missed by many other family and friends.
Ken was a long-time employee of JM Schneider’s. He retired at age 55 and spent more than 20 years living outside of Havelock in the woods doing what he loved most.
Arthur "Art" Dietrich

Passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Home, Kitchener on Monday December 12, 2022, at the age of 98 years, with his wife at his side.
Husband and lifelong companion of Pauline (nee Yanke) for 79 years. Loving Father and Dad to his children, Donna Deamer (John), John Dietrich, Bernice Muller (Pat), Art Dietrich (Marion), and Kathy Darby.
Predeceased by his brother and sisters and their spouses. Also, by three sons, Ron, Rick and Dan, grandson, Ken Graham, son-in-law John Deamer. Art leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and some great greats. He will also be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
He was fondly referred to as ‘Art’ by his co-workers, and ‘Sonny’ in his hockey and baseball years before family. He was a J.M. Schneider retiree with many friends in their poultry procurement division. Before Schneider's he drove cab, had a country beer route, which easily converted to the first West Side Dairy country route when Blue Top Brewery closed its doors. Whatever it took to put a roof over our heads and food on the table.

Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on Monday December 5th at the age of 82 and surrounded by his loving family.
Ken retired from JM Schneider after 37 years. The majority was spent in the Beef Kill division and later in the meat packaging department. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and participated in their dart league for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren. His favourite day of the week was Friday when he played darts with his family, friends and neighbours.

Michael Kurt Schneider, born September 29th, 1956, passed away peacefully at The Westmount Long Term Care Home on Sunday, October 30th 2022. “Kurt,” as he was known all his life, was 66 years old. Survived by his son, Michael, Cathie Schneider, his siblings, Gretchen (Bob) Whetham, Eric (Minto) Schneider and Nancy Schneider, his nieces and nephews, Bryce and Chelsea McBride and Willem and Lija Schneider. We are very saddened to announce the passing of John Henry Wassing, in the early morning of October 18, 2022. He was with us for 70 years. Born near Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1952, a year later the family moved to the Waterloo region where John spent his entire life.
John retired from J.M. Schneider Meats after approximately 35 years of service. Upon retirement he drove school bus for a number of years as a hobby, and fully enjoyed his time with the little ones.
He truly loved playing golf, and could frequently be found in, and even winning, snooker tournaments throughout southern Ontario. An avid gardener, he also enjoyed spending time on his computer, thoroughly researching many topics that piqued his interest. He spent many happy hours on his front porch with a good book.

It is with sadness that the family of Harold Bolt announce the news of his passing. Harold passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on May 13, 2022, just one month before his 84th birthday.
Predeceased by his parents, Harold Sr., and Grace, and his three sisters Florence, Mary Ann, and Helen.
Harold leaves behind Johanna, his wife of 58 years, and their three daughters Elizabeth (Ben), Mary Ann (Paul) and Christina. He also leaves five granddaughters, Katherine (Steven), Sophia, Olivia, Lucy, and Charlotte.
Harold was an avid outdoorsman and loved archeology. Not one for small talk or material things, you could always count on finding Harold hunting in a field, fishing on a lake, or spending time in his vegetable garden. He was a first-class storyteller with a seemingly endless knowledge of birds, wildlife, and random trivia, and enjoyed chatting with and sharing his insights with friends and neighbours.

Bert was born in Bamberg, Ontario, as one of fourteen children to the late Herbert and Elfreida (nee Straus) Freiburger. An amazing and loving husband to Evelyn (nee Wittich). They just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Mom always referred to Dad as "Hon". Greatest Dad to Steve (Deb), Linda (James), and Rodney (Becky). Blessed to have as their Papa are Brittany, Jordan (Lindsay), Taylor (Ian), Parker (Gage), Nathan, Grace, Carlie (Kory), Zachary, Logan (Taylor). Great Papa to Lilah and Evie. Bert is survived by his sister Jean (Larry) Robertson and in-laws Joe Vollmer, Norma Freiburger, Carol Freiburger and Lorean Freiburger. Bert was a butcher and a long-time employee at J.M. Schneider Inc. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many days spent on the river with his fishing crew. Loved playing cards with any who dare to challenge him. So many evenings spent with neighbours that were like family. His true love was Evelyn and his family and friends. Dad will truly be missed.

Poerschke, Helga Edith (nee Kriese) Went home to be with our Lord and Saviour Jesus on the evening of May 4, 2022 at the age of 88. Helga was predeceased by her husband Georg; her parents Theophil and Irma Kriese; her sister Inge and husband Cornelius Barg, and her brother-in-law Georg Nebel.
Helga immigrated to Canada from Germany/Poland during WWII for a new life with her mother and 2 sisters. She worked as a nanny in B.C. for a few years, ultimately returning to Kitchener and settling down, and marrying Georg.
Helga is survived by her sister Margit Nebel and her children, as well as, nephews David Barg (Jennifer Brazequ-Barg, Benjamin and Jadon) and Timothy Barg.
Now at peace, Helga valued her beloved family, friends and the caregivers at Lisaard House who walked through the journey of cancer with her.

Tibor was a man of many interests and skills. Born in Hungary, he immigrated with his family to Canada in 1950. He took on responsibilities of earning an income at an early age. From washing cars, to car mechanic, to construction and eventually entering the elevator industry, Tibor understood the benefits of honest hard work and of having an easy-going personality. Tibor eventually owned and operated his own elevator company servicing southern Ontario.

On Saturday, April 16, 2022, as the sun rose at Hospice Waterloo Region. Tom and Judie (Woods) have been married almost 44 years. They have two children Christopher and Gregory who brought him endless Joy and grey hair! Tom was happiest around the home he created for his family, surrounded by family especially his precious four grandsons! After retirement Tom's idea of travel was a daily three hour walk around Anndale Park and the neighbourhood with lab Molly and often a grandson or two.

It is with the great sorrow that comes from great love, that we announce the passing of John Henry Quehl on Sunday, March 6th, 2022. He passed on peacefully, in the comfort of his home, with family by his side and faith in his heart. He was in his 88th year.
Born July 25th, 1934, in Tavistock, he was the son of the late Henry and Erica Quehl. His family, which included his late sister Elaine (Schneider), moved to Kitchener just as John became school age. He remained in Kitchener for all his years, attending Sheppard Public School, Kitchener Collegiate Institute and earning a degree from Waterloo College which is now known as Wilfrid Laurier University. He went on to work at J.M. Schneiders for over 35 years.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Jerome Engelbert Hauck.
Dad passed away on December 24 in the comfort and surroundings of his own home after saying goodbye to those he loved. He was in his 95th year.
Jerome leaves behind his beloved wife, Lorraine of 70 years. Loving father of Faye McAdam and her husband Harold, Gary Hauck, and his wife Robinne and Paul Hauck and his wife Shannon. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren; Heather, Ian, and wife Natalie; Cam and wife Rachel, Wes, and wife Allie; and Brady and friend Negar; Spencer, Wendell and wife Ashley and Rachel. Dad was blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Owen, Lauren, Maggie, Madalynn, Connor, Harper, and Gavin.
Jerome was originally from Formosa, Ontario where he lived with his 10 siblings on the family farm. He eventually made his way to Kitchener where he married his wife Lorraine and raised their family.
Most know Jerome for his award-winning gardens on Courtland Ave. He was an avid gardener and was a member of the K-W Horticultural Society. He worked for Ball Brothers for 10 years as a carpenter, then JM Schneider 35 years where he led the carpentry shop. Jerome was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends. His work and talents will be treasured by his family where he contributed to the construction and development of decks, pools, retaining walls, fireplaces, birdhouses, projects for the church and schools.
Jerome’s family are proud of their father who heroically cared for his wife Lorraine at their home for many years until his recent brief illness.
The family have chosen to delay a celebration of Jerome’s life until we are able to gather with family and friends. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place provided by Henry Walser Funeral Home.
Dad always said “we plant trees for the future enjoyment of the next generation”

He also ventured into the independent poultry farming business for a number of years.

Joyce Headlam died peacefully at her home on September 27, 2021, surrounded by her family and listening to the music she loved.
Joyce grew up a child of Kitchener in the 1930s and 40s, the daughter of the spirited Viola Volker (nee McCulloch) and Howard Volker, vice-president of Schneiders, one of the great companies that helped define the city during those years. At age eight, Joyce became the original Little Dutch Girl, appearing in costume at company events, and the image became the corporate symbol for Schneiders to this day.

Passed away suddenly at his residence, on Monday, September 20, 2021, at the age of 71. Albert resided on Ross Road, NB with his life partner Louise Roy, in their dream log cabin.
In addition to his life partner, he is survived by two sons: Justin and Jason (Maricel); Maricel's children: Roshella, Camille, Evanz and Macoy; five sisters: Yvonne, Helen, Anna, May and Emma; five brothers: Edouard, Arthur, Adolphe, Benny (AlbÃ©nie) and GÃ©rard; a special nephew, Denis Breau; a goddaughter, Kathleen Breau, as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Born October 4, 1949, he was the son of the late Luc Breau and the late BÃ©atrice Doiron. He was predeceased by two brothers, Alpheus and Joseph.

Mom was born at home to parents Isaiah and Dora Eby (Hallman) and grew up in Williamsburg, Ontario, and attended Williamsburg school, where Helena Feasby was her favorite teacher. At 16, Mom left the farm to work at J.M. Schneider's, in Kitchener, where she was crowned "Miss Schneider 1949" - she still had great legs!
Audrey married the love of her life, Don in 1950. Life soon changed with the birth of four children in five years.

Great Poppa to Kaeden, Brynnlee, Laynee, and many more great-grandchildren. After a 9 year journey with cancer, Eileen Frim (nee Kraehling) has traveled over her rainbow bridge to be with her beloved husband Mike. (2003). Eileen was 85.

Eileen began her working life at age 14. She worked as a shoemaker at Savage Shoes and Greb’s Shoe Factories, a poultry worker at J.M. Schneiders, a cafeteria worker at Electrohome, a care giver for numerous seniors and a lunch room supervisor at Wilson Avenue Public School.

At Freeport Hospital, Mildred Faulkner, aged 82, passed peacefully on Sunday night July 18. Daughter of the late Wilfred and Clara (Wagner) Lemp. Predeceased by her beloved husband Freeman, her brothers Hilburt, Eldon and Carl (Lemp) and sisters Verda Lipskie and Erma Nafziger. Will be missed dearly by her brother Alfred Lemp (Mary Sample) and her loving sister Gertrude Kukor. Aunt Mildred/Millie will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and their families. Survived by goddaughter Kenda (Jim) Lindsay. Mildred and Freeman were married 40 years and were blessed to have many friends and loving families. WAGLER, Clare J- I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Clare Wagler passed away peacefully at Innisfree Hospice with his family at his side at the age of 74 on Monday, June 28th, 2021. Clare is survived by his loving wife Judy (Steckly) Wagler with whom he shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. Also mourning his loss are his daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry Wagler (Jamie Gaulton), Beth (Steve) Baechler, Tanya (Damon) Johnstone. Already missing their Papa are his beloved grandchildren, Sam and Alex Baechler, Jonas and Hannah Gaulton and Ethyn and Evan Johnstone. Survived by his siblings Dale (Jean) Wagler and Brenda Wagler. Loving remembered by his niece Rochelle and his nephews, Trevor, Jeremy and Ryan. Also remembered by Lyle and Marg Ellison. Predeceased by his parents Stan and Ruby (Lebold) Wagler and Judy’s parents, Ernie and Betz (Bender) Steckly. Also predeceased by his sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Steckly) Ellison and his brother-in-law Ron Steckly and Ron’s wife, Rose (Bender) Steckly. Clare was a long-time dedicated employee of Schnieder Maple Leaf Foods, winning The President’s Award in 2006 for Overall Leadership Excellence before his retirement in 2008.

Werner was born August 25, 1934 in Kelpin, Poland. He and his family came to Canada in 1947. He later met and married his wife Louise (Karges) in Kitchener, where they raised 4 children. He worked as a Production Scheduler at J.M. Schneider Inc. until he retired in 1999. Werner is predeceased by his wife, Louise (2001), his grandson Nicholas (2005) and his parents Ferdinand and Dora. Beloved dad to Chris (Glenn), Sue (Robert), Steve and Tina. Much loved grandpa to Stephanie, Stacie, Andrew, Tyler, Mathew, Corey and Michael and great grandpa to Danika and Kailee. Werner is also survived by his siblings; Agnes, Dieter, Winfred, Doris and Adeline.

It is with the deepest sorrow we announce the passing of David Paul McQuay on the 25 th of May 2021. Born August 23 rd , 1946 to Morley and Vera (nee Miller) in Kitchener Ontario. David leaves in love, his beloved wife Mary Lynne (nee Wrathall) and children Brenda (Jarid) and David Jr. (Shannon), sister Barbara and much-loved nephews Brent and Tyler.
In 1974 David left his job at Bauer Skate to pursue a career with J.M. Schneiders, a position in Order Fill he held until his retirement in 2003. In his off-time David could often be found camping and fishing, at the local rink watching his granddaughter (Ayrial) with the Lady Rangers or his grandson (Kaden) with the Panthers / Tigers. David’s generous and charismatic attitude have thankfully and successfully been passed down to and showcased everyday in his grandchildren Aaralyn and Easton as well.

Prior to moving to Nithview, Ralph was a very active member of Poole Mennonite Church serving as a song leader and on many church committees. Ralph was employed by J.M. Schneider Ltd. for over 35 years. Ralph loved music and he loved to make music as a singer and as a conductor. A self-taught musician, he was a dedicated former member of the Schneider Male Chorus for 36 years and was honoured by the choir in 2015 with the "Jim Rennie Award" for his passion and outstanding commitment and service to the choir.

Jill lived life to the fullest and was loved for her “larger than life” personality and the easy way that she shared it with her friends and family.

In his early years, Helmut worked for C.P. Rail for 12 years and then worked at J.M. Schneider for over 30 years before retirement. Helmut will be remembered as a good, clean living person.

He is survived by his 5 children, lovingly known by him as the 5 brats; Gina (Gregg), Denise, Dean (Sandy), Theresa, and Peter (Cindy) as well as his grandchildren; Eric, Adam (Ruth), Zachary, Emilee (Jordan), Jessica (Brendan), Tessa (Tom), Alex, Marley (Wade), and Lily (Cody).
The mold was broken when Al (Papa) entered this world in Winnipeg, Manitoba on December 18, 1938. He worked a lifelong career at Schneider's and was an avid hunter, fisherman and overall sportsman. At the age of 55, he retired to the infamous "Shack" where he spawned countless woodworking gems (hope chests, canoe paddles, clocks, canes and the most renowned; The Fish Bonker).

Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick on February 12, 1935, Bob lived in Priceville, New Brunswick as a child with his loving and caring grandparents, the late Hartley and Susan (Beek) Price. He was an employee of J.M. Schneider in Kitchener for 36 years and after retirement enjoyed many summers at the cottage at Davidson Lake, New Brunswick. Bob always enjoyed family get-togethers, playing his guitar and singing. His gentle manner and great smile will be missed by family and friends.

van Grein, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2020 in his 91st year after a full and well-lived life.
Born in Ayton, Ontario, on March 20, 1930 to the late George and Hilda (Fischer) Grein, Ivan grew up in Hanover. He owned and operated Grein’s meat market and Lucky Dollar grocery store in Mount Forest. In 1964, Ivan moved back to Hanover to work in sales for J.M. Schneider Ltd. for 29 years before retiring. Ivan was proud of his German heritage and especially loved German music. In his younger years, he enjoyed travelling with his family and friends, and later on made many great memories at Lake Rosalind. Ivan had a lot of good times with his many friends over the years. He enjoyed learning and had a sharp mind. Family was always his first priority and we were blessed with a quiet, kind, compassionate, thoughtful, and loving man. He was a true gentleman. He will be so very missed.

Nellie (Darnell) Foglton-Freeland passed away suddenly but peacefully, with her son by her side, on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener.
Dear and beloved mother to Kevin Freeland (Valerie) and adored grandmother to Rachel and Nicole Freeland.
Predeceased by parents Stephanie & Louis Foglton, brothers John (Ramona) and Bill (Mary) Foglton, sisters Margaret Kadey (Earl), Teresa Zerbes (Jim), and Annie Ferguson (Bob). Loving sister to Jack Foglton (Joan), Olga Pettit (Stan), and Rose Kelly (Earl). “Aunt Nellie” to multiple nieces and nephews.
She was born premature and weighed less than 3 pounds at birth and to increase her odds of survival, her parents constructed an incubator made of warmed bricks wrapped in blankets. She survived due to a fighting spirit and incredible will which underpins the story of her life.
Fiercely independent, she left home at a young age after the passing of her parents and ventured to Kitchener where she settled permanently and took on various positions to support her independent self. One of her first jobs was a roller-skating waitress at A&W at a time when food trays were served to cars and hung off of their partially rolled down windows. When her manager would ask why her tips were so much higher than the other waitresses, it was simply related to her personable and outgoing personality.
As a single mother and with no immediate local family, she continued in various labour positions to provide for her son. She persisted working into her 60’s out of the pure desire to provide at all cost, and retired from J.M. Schneiders after 25+ years of service.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Steven John Eby on July 27th at the age of 57 at Freeport Hospital. Steven passed peacefully with his loving family and his girlfriend Toni by his side. Steven fought a long and courageous battle with cancer to the very end and never gave up. Steve is survived by his parents Patricia and Ray Eby, his sister Jenny (Colin), his brother Carl (Carol), his nieces Danielle (Brian), Amanda (Jack) and his niece Trishia, his only nephew and godson Tyler (Christina) and three great nephews: Mason, Logan & Graham. He is also missed by his girlfriend Toni and her son Brendan. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Steve loved working on his vehicles and camping with his friends, but his true passion was helping others in which he touched so many lives.

Bob was the beloved husband of Mildred (nee Maier) and father of Elizabeth (Betty Loth) both predeceased. Alexandra passed away, peacefully, at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in her 95th year.
Predeceased by her husband Gerald (Gerry) Stockie in 2006.
Alex is survived by her three children, Gary (Loretta) Stockie of Waterloo, Janet (Robert) Silver and Paul Stockie, all of Kitchener; and grandchildren, Keith, Karalee, Kristen, Ryan (Alicia), and Benjamin (Skylar) as well as nieces and nephews.
Alexandra came to Canada from Ukraine as a teenager in the position of a dental hygienist. She met her future husband at Rockway Fish and Chips; they later married in 1950 and began their family. After raising their family, she was employed by J. M. Schneider for many years. Alex was an active member of St. Louis RC Church in Waterloo where she belonged to the CWL. She was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Waterloo, Branch 530. Alex was the last original resident of Oriole Street in Waterloo. Alex and Gerry enjoyed many years at the family cottage in Woodland Beach.

Beloved husband and best friend of Pat (Cook) Diebel whom he married on March 10, 1972. Devoted and loving father and grandfather to Scott Diebel and wife Melissa Gray and their daughters Atlanta and Lily; Todd Diebel and wife Kristin and their children Harry and Isabelle and Pamela and her husband Jeff Balfour and their daughters Ellie and Beatrice. Paul will be deeply missed by his sister Elaine Bretz and brother in law Bob Cook and wife Joan and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother-in-law Murray Bretz.
Paul was a man of many things. But what he was most famous for was being an amazing papa. Papa loved his girls and his only boy more than life itself. Paul worked for JM Schneiders on Courtland in Kitchener for 42 years. He was a foreman and retired in the Research and Development Department. He took pride in being a part of the JMS team.

John Jacob Christian passed away at George Pearson Center in Vancouver, British Columbia on February 18, 2020. John was a graduate of the University of Waterloo and a former employee of J.M. Schneider Limited in Kitchener. John loved the outdoors and while cycling through Europe developed a taste for being a wine and cognac connoisseur. He was tactful and diplomatic at war gaming. John had been battling a severe form of Multiple Sclerosis for over 30 years yet maintained his sense of humour throughout. He was predeceased by his parents John and Katharina Christian (Kitchener). John is survived by his wife, Karen Gibson, who loved and devotedly cared for him, his brother Michael (Rosemary), niece Shannon and nephew Brandon (Kitchener). He will be sadly missed by all of his Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, his wife's family and his extended family. "Muggins" will be greatly missed by all of his friends. Born in Kitchener, Ontario on March 1, 1942 to the late Emerit and Eileen (nee Reidt) Angst. Larry was a Research Developer with Schneider’s Meat for many years. Larry often loved the solace of the calm lakes that he loved to fish in. The only sound heard was often just a reel bringing in the catch of the day.

Cherished dad of Lynn (Gerard) Reinhart and Deb ""Bubs"" (Steve) Seeley. Dear grandpa to Jason (Melissa), Keith (Sabrina) and Matthew Reinhart and Ben and Laura Seeley. He will be lovingly remembered by his lifelong special friend Fred Bruder as well as many other dear friends. Don was always there for his family. He was interested in every little detail of their lives and was a proud supporter at graduations and all other memorable moments. Lynn and Debbie feel very blessed and proud to have had such a kind, thoughtful and caring man for their dad. Don loved his sports! Playing, coaching, volunteering and being his grandchildren's biggest fan. Don was a proud employee of JM Schneiders working as a master butcher and company representative. Don enjoyed his last 10 years working as an usher at the auditorium and especially enjoyed when the Kitchener Rangers were playing. He was really more than an usher though, he was a friend to all and greeted them with a handshake and warm conversation. Don enjoyed walking along the beach and watching many sunsets at the cottage with his wife, family and friends.

Dave Brown’s life was filled with shenanigans, laughter, practical jokes, and a fierce love for his family and friends. Dave was born in Port Dover on September 28, 1953. He passed peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Sunnyside in Kitchener in his 67th year.
Dave was predeceased by his parents Jack and Marion Brown. He was a loving husband to his wife Barbara (nee Elliott), and the best father and friend to his daughters Joanne (Mark) and Julie (Paul). He leaves behind his grandchildren Kassie, Mya, Jack, Aiden and Evelyn. Dave will be greatly missed by his brother Ralph (Brenda) and his sister Nancy (Randy) and nieces and nephews Jamie (Becky), Jaclyn (Andre and daughter Savannah), Brian (Rebecca and children Sam and Charlotte), and Darren. He will also be missed by a large extended family and many friends who were like family to him.
Dave explored a few career paths as a young man before finding his fit with J.M. Schneiders in 1973. Dave tested the waters as a deck hand with the Merchant Marines aboard the Imperial Sarnia Tanker for a season. He also tried his hand as an Electrical Apprentice, but that wasn’t for him either. Dave’s career with Schneiders began loading and shunting trailers and with the incredible support and mentorship of some great people, he proudly retired as the National Transportation Director for Maple Leaf Consumer Foods Inc. in 2009.

Passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Lisaard House, Cambridge. Ted was born 90 years ago in Mactier, Ontario, a son of the late Arthur and Florence (Needle) Peck.
Loving husband and best friend of Beverley Joan Peck (Shaw). Cherished father of Timothy Allen Peck (Kathy) and Trevor Scott Peck (Cheryl). Dear grandfather of Jessica, Sarah, Abigail, Zachary, Gregory, Bradley and Travis. Ted is remembered by his sister-in-law Doreen Peck and his many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his daughter Trudy Lynne Peck, brothers Kenneth Peck, Dalton (Dorothy) Peck and sisters-in-law Marion (Ernest) Ormshaw and Betty Lou Darling.
Ted was a member of Zion United Church, New Hamburg as well as a member of the Masonic Lodge. Ted was a hardworking and dedicated man, who graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelors of Arts in Geography at the age of 70, after retiring from J.M. Schneiders and Erb Transport.

Peacefully, on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Revera Bough Beeches Place Retirement Residence, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Jean. Loving father of Janet Olsen (Ron) and Peter. He was the devoted Bamp of his granddaughter Gillian Olsen.
Born in Toronto, Jim grew up in the west end of Toronto and graduated from Etobicoke Collegiate in 1949. In 1953 he graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Commerce and Finance. Jim joined Canadian General Electric in 1953 and enjoyed 31 years of service, culminating in his position as Division Finance Manager. From 1984 to 1986 he was Vice-President Finance and Admin at JM Schneider Inc. and in 1987 Jim joined Black Photo as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He retired in 1997.
While serving as attendants at the wedding of close friends in June 1958, Jim met Jean Sheppard. Jean was teaching occupational therapy at McGill and Jim was on the audit staff at CGE in Toronto. While keeping the airlines and trains busy in the interim they were married on June 20, 1959 in St. John’s Anglican Church, York Mills.
In addition to his activities as a volunteer to a number of organizations over the course of his life, most recently as a Public Member on the Council of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, Jim enjoyed table tennis, curling, travelling, watching sports and reading.
Jim will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
At Jim’s request a private family service was held at St. John’s Anglican Church, York Mills (yesterday) with interment in the family plot in the churchyard. If desired, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca

He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. If something was broken, David could fix it. He believed duct tape and WD40 could fix anything! David was a jokester, loving to play pranks. His greatest loves were his family, granddaughters, and his granddogs.

Suddenly on Monday, February 11, 2019, at the Portage and District General Hospital, Joseph Malleck passed away at the age of 57 years.
Joe was born in in Kitchener, Ontario where he grew up and attended school. At the age of 18 he began as a metal sheet apprentice with Marvel-Air Ltd. He received his electricians ticket while working at Kaufman Footwear. He worked for several electrical companies including Becker's Lay-Tech Inc., J.M. Schneider Inc and Kitchener Frame Ltd. From 2009 until 2019 he was employed by McCains Foods Ltd. in Portage la Prairie, MB. He loved working with electronic robots in the large processing plants. He was an accomplished electrician, carpenter, and mechanic. He could build or repair anything and would help anyone.

He was known as a soft spoken, kind and gentle soul. Ken always saw the best in people and engaged fully in life. His jovial nature, generosity, patience and sense of humour were just a few of the wonderful qualities for which he will be remembered.

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Pinehaven Nursing Home at the age of 99. Howard is survived by his daughters Karen Stemphlet and Beth Baker (Rob), grandchildren Gabrielle, Cameron and Olivia, and sisters-in-law Dorothy and Erika Knipfel. Howard was predeceased by his parents Fred and Elizabeth Knipfel, wife Marguerite, and brothers John, Alfred, Walter, Fred and fraternal twin brother Harold. Howard was born and raised in Petersburg and with brothers Walter and Alfred provided music for many dances during the 1940's and 50's. For 11 years he was church organist at Petersburg Evangelical Church and conducted the male choir. He was also the church organist at Holy Cross Lutheran Church for 15 years and conducted their children's choir. Howard always had a love for music. He was also an employee at J.M Schneiders for 41 years.

Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on Monday, September 10, 2018 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Agnes for 60 years. Loving father of Donna Mitchell (Stuart), Anne Jackowetz (John), Paul Schnarr (Donna), Pauline Tschirhart (Ed) and Dave Schnarr (Terri). Proud grandpa of Kayla, Nick (Christina), Lindsay, Matt, Stacey, Meghan (Mish), Kelsie, Craig (Madé), Aimee, Kerri, Ryan (Erin) and great-grandfather of Henry, Vale, Carter, Katie, Ben and Jack. Survived by his sister Laurine MacDermott. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and their families. Lea was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, baseball, golf, horseshoes and bowling. The highlight of his sporting career was winning the Canadian Doubles Horseshoe tournament in Ottawa with his partner Stan Leis. Lea was at his best with 73% ringers for the tournament. He threw 14 ringers in his last 16 attempts to clinch the win. The icing on the cake with this win was defeating his rival Elmer Hohl who was the Canadian Champion. St. Clements Parish was a key part of Lea's life. He was very active in many different aspects of the church, including Eucharistic Minister, usher, lecturer, rang the bells, visited the shut-ins and lead Corpus Christi processions. Lea was a dedicated employee for 34 years at J.M. Schneiders.

He spent his last days in one of his favourite places Matheson, Ontario, where he and his wife Christle spent 34 glorious years at their cottage. He is survived by his wife, Christl Stendel (Sessel), his sons Tom Stendel and Troy Stendel (Tammy), his 4 grandchildren Ashlyn Groff Stendel, Dustin Stendel (Kayla), Lexi Stendel, Lana Stendel and 3 great grandchildren, Madison, Owen & Reid Stendel. Teddy was born in Berlin, Germany and Immigrated to Canada at the age of 20. He played soccer for the Concordia Club, belonged to the hunting club and retired from Schneiders in 1997.

The Gates of Heaven opened wide and Gloria welcomed Ken inside, died peacefully of a broken heart in his 94th year on Monday, April 9, 2018.
Devoted and loving husband of the late Gloria (Schmidt) Rabethge (2017) and the late Vera (Hunter) Rabethge (1977). Beloved father of Terralene (Ron) Johnston and Sandra (Ken) MacDougall. Cherished and loving stepfather to Gloria's children, Terry Warner, Nancy (Al) Burgers, Jim Warner, Karen Hallman (Ben) and Lynette (Russ) Blackwell. Dear grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Ken is survived by sisters-in-law Marie Deichert, Claudine Koyich and Joanne Schmidt and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Eric and Leona Rabethge, and his brother Bobby (2007). Ken was an electrician at J.M. Schneiders until his retirement and was a member of the Waterloo Legion. Death in old age is a transition not a tragedy.

Passed away suddenly at his residence in New Hamburg on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Robert was born 73 years ago, a son of the late Edward Anger and former Dorothy Spaetzel. Beloved husband of Diane Anger (nee Yutzi) of New Hamburg. Loving father of Patricia Kalbhenn (Richard), Stephanie Price (Kevin), all of Kitchener, and James Anger (Aimee) of Paris. Dear grandfather of Rebecca, Chloe, Ciaran, Aiden, and Erin. Survived by siblings Donna-Lou Grundy (Fred) of Winterbourn, Harold Anger of Kitchener, Valerie Hein (Terry) of Mannheim, Kenneth Anger (Joyce) of Baden. Robert was predeceased by a grandson Alan Kalbhenn and sister-in-law Iris Anger.
Robert was very active with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 532, where he had served as President for many years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served on council and was “Mr. Fix-it”. He was also a member of the New Hamburg Optimist Club and had been a volunteer fire fighter in New Hamburg. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Foxwood Golf Club.

Nick Immigrated to Canada in 1953. He spent most of his career as a night superintendent of G.M. Schneider's. In his retirement years, he enjoyed helping at his son's butcher shop in Stratford. Nick will always be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews as the uncle who always had time for them. He selflessly was their boat driver at the family cottage.

F. Harry Brown, after a long and industrious life has gone to be with his Lord. He died March 3rd at Trinity Village LTC in Kitchener. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Nina Jean Brown (nee Hughes), wed for 65 years. Loving father of Judy Brown, Kim Brown (Loretta) and Hughbee Brown (Carolyn) and grandchildren Eric (Ariel), Alex (Jenna), Luke (Sarah), Samantha and Darian. Harry is remembered by his brother Clare and his wife Jean. He is predeceased by his eldest son Rick (1964), his parents Wilford and Lydia Brown, as well as his sister Olive, his brother Howard and his wife, Norma.
Born and raised near Tavistock, in his early adult years, Harry took on the family farm for a number of years. His love of singing drew him to the Oxford Junior Farmers' Choir where he met his future wife, Nina Hughes. They married in 1952 and had 4 children. In the early 1960s they moved with their children to Kitchener where Harry worked for many years at J.M. Schneider's. In his retirement he worked for M&M Meat Shops.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Hugh Alexander Duncan on January 11, 2018 at Hospice Wellington surrounded by the love of his family. Hugh was in his 90th year, a longtime resident of Bloomingdale and retired millwright from J.M. Schneiders.
Beloved husband and best friend of the late Joyce (nee McAllister), his wife of 55 years and Ruthe Patterson. Hugh was adored, treasured and will be greatly missed by his children Nancy Boudreau and her husband Gary, Carolyn Duncan, and Bruce Duncan and his wife Judy. Sadly missed by his precious grandchildren, James, Brad and Brittany (Brad), Kayla and Krista as well as his great-granddaughters, Brooke and Alexis.
Hugh was predeceased by his brother Neil and leaves behind his sister Marion Anderson and sister-in-law Kathleen Dahmer and their families. He will also be missed greatly by his Patterson step-family.
Hugh left a legacy of love, kindness and care for his family and friends. In his quiet way he helped anyone in need. He had a talent for repairing almost anything on Earth but pancreatic cancer was more than he could fix.

Following a short battle with cancer Roy Shantz passed away at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener in his 93rd year.
Beloved husband for 53 years of Elaine (Rohr), who passed away in 2009. He was the youngest son of the late Bishop Benjamin and Myra Shantz of Preston.
Devoted father to his children Carolyn Strathdee and her husband Mike, Mark Shantz and his wife Suean Shantz, Phil Shantz and his wife Chris Enns, and Brenda Shantz. Loving grandfather to Ashton Gervais and her husband Kyle, Ella and Kate Strathdee and Mackenzie and Natasha Shantz.
He is also survived by in-laws Nelda Shantz, Gloria and Bill Coats, Diane Rohr, Grace Rohr and Marion Rohr. Roy was predeceased by his sisters Marjorie Martin, Edna Hilborn, Grace Metzger and Violet Good, his brothers Elmer (in infancy), Clayton, Gordon and Ralph, sisters-in-law Verna Shantz and Beth Shantz, and brothers-in-law, Phares Martin, Cranson Good, Wes Metzger, Rae Hilborn, Ed Rohr and Ken Rohr.
Roy was raised on the family farm that was located along the banks of the Grand River near Freeport. Roy attended the two-room Pine Grove School and later Preston High School. He worked in the accounting department at J.M. Schneider for 42 years.

In 1925 Jack was born in Kitchener. In 1944, he enlisted in the Navy and served on the HMCS Uganda. He was an accompanist for the Schneider Male Chorus and the Director of the Knox Presbyterian Church Choir for 47 years and was also a member of the Kiwanis Club. Jack retired in 1985 from J.M. Schneider after 42 years of dedicated service.

Longtime resident of Kitchener, George passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his son and daughter at Creek Way Village LTC in Burlington on Monday, November 9, 2015. George was born in Nagyszekely, Hungary on May 8, 1922.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary of 68 years in 2009. He is also predeceased by his mother Dorothea when he was 1 1/2 years old, his father Gyorgy during WWII, his stepmother Erzsebet and most recently his sister Boszi in August of this year.
George is survived by his son, George of Arizona and daughter, Irene of Burlington.

Beloved husband for 35 years of his devoted wife Doreen (nee Welch).
Loving father of Jean (Michael) Kalbun, Mary Jo Crawford, Linda (Brian) Shoemaker. Betty Dyksterhuis and cherished stepfather of Tim (Joan) Parker, Andrea (Barry) Watson, Vicky (Mark) Potts and Lee (Debbie) Parker.
He will be remembered with love by his 16 grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother Grace Dyksterhuis, his brothers Henry and Peter, sisters Coby and Hennie and their families.
Predeceased by his father Jan.
His love and sense of humour will be greatly missed by many friends and family in Port Severn, Fort Myers Beach and Holland.
Cremation has taken place.
Jake’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, November 22, 2010 from 1:00-1:45PM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467, followed by a memorial service to celebrate Jake’s life in the chapel at 2:00PM.
Reception to follow.

Peacefully at the Trinity Care Centre on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Arthur Ladzik Sr. (September 2, 2003). Loving mother of Janet and husband Wolfgang Altmann of Waterloo and Arthur and wife Kathleen Ladzik of Kitchener. Cherished grandmother of Michael and wife Tanya Altmann of California, Brian Altmann of Kitchener, Daniel Altmann of Toronto, Kimberley Ladzik, Lindsay and husband Ian Sprague, all of Kitchener and great grandmother to Aiden and Gavyn. Dear sister of Robert Bezruki of Kitchener and Paul and wife Myrna Bezruki of Waterloo. Angela is the daughter of the late Catherine and Paul Bezruki, also predeceased by her brothers Stanley and wife Joan and Casey Bezruki, and sisters Jean Cybalski, Josephine and husband John Iza and Leona and her husband Harold Johnson. Fondly remembered by her in-laws, Don Cybalski and Ethel Bezruki and will be fondly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Angela was a long time employee of Wiegand Shirt and a former member of the St. Agnes CWL.

Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the age of 73.
He leaves his wife Joan (Logel) with a broken heart, but wonderful warm memories of 49 very special happy years together.
